March
The Thursday meeting was at Barley Island. Jeff Eaton showed us the brewery again and lots of porters and stouts were enjoyed.
The weekend meeting was at Ron and Tracey Smith's where we saw Ron's new house complete with 1-floor tower brewery.

February
| A dozen or so
folks enjoyed Dick's Bodacious BBQ in Carmel and matched lagers to the pulled
pork. Ron Smith shared a 12 and a 13 year old liquorice bock.
|
Two days later another dozen folks came to Mark and Chris
Schiess' house to match lagers and bocks with creole sausage. Yep,
that's single malt Scotch also.

The FBI's coveted annual Heavy Hydrometer Award went to host Scott Whitaker (below right - he's the one without the bird on his shoulder) again this year. His third HHA in the 12-year history of the award. 18 judges, 8 entries, and a line-up of almost 2-dozen commercial old ales and barleywines to celebrate the day.

Over a dozen folks came to the Broad Ripple Brewpub on a snowy Thursday to share beers and sip some of the three strong ales BRBP's Kevin Matalucci had on tap - Big Boy, Wee Heavy, and Anklebiter. New member Mark Mahon's RyePA went down a treat.

December
More than 20 members met at the downtown BW3. Some homebrew, some pitchers of beer, some friends, some stories.
November
Scott & Kay Whitaker hosted the Saturday meeting.
During the Thursday meeting, a dozen FBIers tasted homemade ciders and meads at Easley Winery. Mark Easley gave us a full tour of the winery.

October
Randy and Christy Weaver held a campfire for the FBI and the Gambrinus Society the same day as a going-away party for Bob and Alexis Frisinger. Most of the FBIers left about dusk but the hardy Bloomington types stayed far into the night and a half-dozen camped out.
September
The FBI met at Chalkies for the Thursday evening meeting where Mark Schiess shared 8 German beers.
Then, 2 days later, John Mascari and Terri Ochs invited everyone to their home near, but not in, Carmel for a cookout and campfire.
July
The FBI celebrated the one year anniversary of the tiki bar at Greg and Mary Ann Christmas' home with a summer pool party. We also celebrated Mark Schiess's Best of Show at the Indiana State Fair. Ron Smith won the Bocchi game and Greg won the croquet match after Marvin went poison.
Some homebrew salvaged from the State Fair tasting was appreciated including 6 of Dan McBride's (Duneland Homebrewers Association) beers from Westville.
June
Neal Danison's back yard makes a good croquet court. No fireworks, though, this year. Most of the 15+ attendees brought some homebrew of course and a good time was had by all. Thank you Neal.
March
The "geek" meeting was at Dick's Bodacious BBQ in Broad Ripple. 10 people shared some homebrew and the beers on tap at Dick's and some from downtown's BW3. Ron brought some of his fantastic Saison from the Rock Bottom brew. Greg brought a Dubble, Tripel & Strong Ale.
We had a good turnout at Brady Schroeder and Lisa Mason's house. Brady and Bob Frisinger brewed up some very tasty offerings, a Bock & an IPA to name a couple. There were several good commercial Strong Lagers brought by various people (Frank, Paul & Randy to name a few). The fried turkey was Excellent! Lisa and Brady, thank you for the hospitality.
February
The Single Malt Scotch tasting at Bob Ostrander's house had 7 people
and 12 bottles of Scotch. The best rated bottle was a
Dalmore 30yo. No need to blur the faces in this photo as they were already
blurred.
Easley Winery hosted the mead meeting. Only 7 were in attendance but there were lots of meads (and some beers also). Sweet, dry, peach (dry), blackberry (effervescent and sweet).
Ben Tackitt of Easley's shared some dry honey Ethiopian Tej spiced with Gesho bark (dry barked?) and Braggot - a spicy mead/beer. Plus, we all got a tour of the vastly updated winery operations.

The Heavy Hydrometer Award went again this year to Paul Edwards for a 2000 brew.
