That's us. The FBI meets monthly, often in a member's home, to sample each other's beers, discuss the fine points of brewing, and enjoy the experience.

We have a totally anarchic organizational style and haven't become at all cliquish. If you are interested in brewing your own beer you'll be welcome at an FBI meeting.

FBI members have won many awards at AHA competitions and at the Indiana State Fair.

Local chapter of national society. Often meets at Chalkies. Occasional road trips. Always informal. Mark's web site is worth a browse - it has LOTS of local information including the story behind the fish.

"Monthly meetings are dedicated to exploring the lore and craft of brewing beer as well as the proper enjoyment of the brewer's products. This includes bringing foods to the meetings that will complement and heighten the appreciation of fine ales and the occasional lager. No distinction is made between professionally brewed and distributed beers and the contents of our host's cellar or our members' best efforts."

Very active club with close ties to the FBI.

Meetings of the Tippecanoe Homebrewers' Circle are at members' homes about once a month, and we've been doing quite a bit of brewing and bottling at some of the meetings. We also have between-meeting group brews as often as possible. We are not *completely* composed of Purdue students and staff, although it's unavoidable that university ties of some sort afflict a large percentage of our membership. THC experiences a bit more change in the membership due to this, as students and faculty and their wives/husbands come and go a bit more often than perhaps is the rule in more "normal" communities. (We do NOT think of ourselves as any more abnormal than most homebrewers, however abnormal that is.)

Greg Emig at the Lafayette Brewing Company has been extremely supportive of the THC and we have had a holiday meeting at LBC in late December every year since he opened -- that's nine years we think. Anita Johnson of Great Fermentations of Indianapolis has also been a huge supporter and friend.

THC is always way happy to have new people visit and or join -- whether you're an experienced homebrewer, thinking about homebrewing, curious about homebrewing, or used to be a homebrewer.... Please send email or visit the THC web page at http://hbd.org/thc/. We have some experienced mead makers and dabble in wine making as well.
